Monster Decay aimterview!!!

We are stoked and you should be too! This is an aimterview^TM (dont even bother stealing that term, we're in the very expensive process of getting in patented ;-) with 22 year old artist, graffiti specialist, unofficial customizer of toys released by Kid Robot (they look so cool we thought Kid Robot asked him to paint them! Attn Kid Robot: you should.), fashion designer and just generally a guy with a host of talents-Monster Decay!!





wetandshiny: just so you know this we do a blog on wetshiny.com just about pop culture crap and a lot about Rhode Island. So this will be on the blog and the myspace page. Youre an artist out of Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Can u give a more accurate description of what you do?

monster decay:(not his real sn) not really much to describe other than create monsters,zombies, and other funky shit
wetandshiny: You make the collectible toys right? We also saw you made some t shirt and hoodies a few years ago are u still doing that?
monster decay: yup, slowly getting back into painting the collectible toys, and as for hoodies and shirts, im actually working on a series of designs now that im going to be printing on my spare time, im hoping i can release a new shirt design each month
wetandshiny: that hoodie u made for your brother is rad, with the zip up face, more of those and you'll be money. You have some stuff up in Milk and Cookies you wont sell (I know bc I wanted to buy one) how come?

monster decay: mainly because those were the last paintings ive done in a few months, im slowly getting back in painting again after taking a break but they will be up for sale soon through my site
wetandshiny: By your style and the fact that u dont show your face we'll assume youve done a bit of graffiti. Do you still and do you do it in RI?
monster decay: yea, i used to do it, and i hardly do now unless ive got the urge to, or when some of the homies are goin out, but now that ive been trying to hustle my art and everything else, im trying to get away from the illegal activities, as i dont need to pay fines,fuck that! and as for where it was done, id rather not say
wetandshiny: I never really see much graf in RI, tho I dont go looking for it anymore. Youre GF, Chik does some cool art herself. Any future collaboration plans with her?
monster decay: yea the graf is there, just gotta look, as for Chik, yea shes been known to do some cool stuff, but she doesnt think shes good, which is ridiculous,and for collaborations we've done quite few and there should be even more popping up soon as we've got some cool ideas in the works

wetandshiny: yeah her stuff rivals yours hahaha. We saw a funny prom picture of you guys that was defaced by you, fantastic! So when is your site, monsterdecay.com going to be up, running and selling your stuff?
monster decay: haha, yea that picture was fun to make, my site is up and running, i just havent changed the front page yet, as for selling stuff, that will soon happen once i get some more goodies to make available
wetandshiny: cool. just a couple more questions. I just bought a neckface shirt at the gallery. In a popthirteen interview in '07 you said you'd win him in a fight-do you still think so?
monster decay: yea, ive been meaning to buy that shirt, but slack hard, and as for the fight, monster all the way

wetandshiny: yeah its a sick shirt. The baby and the devil in tightie whities is ridic. So as far as mac and cheese goes: kraft, velveeta or annies?
monster decay: i dont eat mac and cheese
wetandshiny: best possible answer. home depot or loews?
monster decay: home depot
wetandshiny: thats all i got. have u ever done an aim interview before? Im trying patent it. I prefer it to face to face or phone

monster decay: nah, only done it over email where they email me with questions, and i did one on video which was weird
wetandshiny: video could be the worst but funny. so this will be on the site in the nest few days. Thanks so much and well be watching your site and trying to buy that stuff we couldnt buy!
