NYPD, FDNY & other upsides of watching a woman die
So we here at wet and shiny took an impromptu trip to New Yorks lower east side this weekend.
We learned a multitude of things there, as we usually do when taking a trip to the everything capital of the world. Please, take some pleasure in learning lessons without having to actually learn them yourself!
Lesson 9: Uniqlo ads are dope. Needless to say, so is the wear.
Lesson 8: Some New Yorkers, some who make subs, dont know what a sub is. Its a hoagie, not a sub. Did that make any sense at all?
Lesson 7: If youre a hipster, like hip looking things, like waiting a really long time for an elevator, or want to meet valets who cant drive a standard, stay at this hotel: HOTEL ON RIVINGTON
Lesson 6: We like Riesling but are put off by German food. Especially if its written in German. We cant read German. Thanks Lorelie, also on Rivington.
Lesson 5: Sitting next to Stuff White Folks Like (that got sold to Target!?!?) and cute, drunk Asian girls who bump into tables and yell 'FUCK' reeealll loud in a restaurant is funny. Frog dumplings, fried pigeon and turtle soup is not.
Lesson 4: No joke Suckers 4 wrestlers 4 eva.(Sean Sherk, Matt Hughes, cmon, u know), You throw in good hair and a better swagger and we're cooked. Ugh. Swinging junk in the window optional.
Lesson 3: (this lesson intentionally left blank)
Lesson 2: Our NYC friends like us enough to meet for lunch on a Monday but wont go out on Monday night for fear of the dirty college gods.
AND THE # 1, MOST VALUABLE LESSON LEARNED FROM WALKING THE STREETS OF NYC:
Lesson 1: Look before crossing the street!!!
Some poor woman in Chinatown got mowed down by an 18 wheeler on Bowery Street, WHILE WE WATCHED.

sweet Mrs. Chung is behind 2nd orange cone from the left. And the man who hit her? Directing traffic...

Noone knows anything about her but we'll call her Mrs. Chung. In the following WNBC news story they say that she was killed but her condition was unknown. What?! A tad conflicting but we know. We'll miss you Mrs. Chung<3>News Here.
